WITH GREAT GRATITUDE, LET US APPROACH ADVENT!
We have just celebrated our traditional Thanksgiving Day even though this year, under a very weird environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, I believe we had the occasion to thank God for the many blessings He has showered upon us individually and as a nation. As a parish, we celebrated this particular thanksgiving during our “Journey Towards Holiness Campaign”. As we continue with our Campaign, we are excited to now welcome the Season of Advent! Although this year looks different compared to years past, there is still much to anticipate with great gratitude and much joy during this beautiful Season. I am so looking forward to walking in faith with all of you as we move ever closer to the celebration of the birth of our Savior this Christmas.
This past Lenten Season, the Diocese of Phoenix provided for us a beautiful tool to usher us into the season using a form of a FlipBook. The popularity of that resource was so surprising and positive that the Office of Worship has been hard at work to provide us with something similar for Advent. And I am overjoyed to share it with you in this Flocknote! Below is the pdf file of the FlipBook, as well as a link to the digital interactive version of it. My prayer is that this resource will aid you and your families in going even deeper into the preparation of this time. In this book, you will find reflections for the Sundays in Advent, as well as for each of the Holy Days during the Season. There are also blessings for the family Advent Wreath and songs to sing and listen to as a family. Please take the time to download this resource and use it as another aid in your family’s preparation for the coming of our Lord.
I would also like to share with you all the Liturgical calendar for our upcoming Feast and Holy Days so that you might begin to plan and decide when the best time for your families to join us will be. We will keep reminding you as we get closer to some of those dates. Please keep in mind that during the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses, we will only be able to accommodate a fixed amount of people in our Church, in accordance with state and local guidelines. For this reason, we will be streaming one Christmas Eve and one Christmas Day Mass to accommodate many more people virtually.
Regular Weekly Mass Schedule:
