PLEASE STOP BY THE TABLES OF RELIGIOUS WARES (Nativity set, rosaries, statues, crucifxes, charms, etc.) AFTER ALL THE MASSES THE WEEKEND OF (March 4th & 5th).

Ayman Khair is representing about 180 Christian families from Bethlehem. These families have been dependent upon sales of their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the confict in the Middle East and the Pandemic, tourism has been stopped completely from March 2, 2020 till February 2022 and it is very slow now.

It is very important to support them at this critical time since they have no income and there is no government to take care of them and help them. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United State to purchase their articles.

These hand carved religious articles are beyond description. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanship has been traditional for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair, these families who have little income and are able to stay living and survive in the Holy Land. Sadly enough, the Christian population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 20 years.

Yesterday’s Kids meeting will be Monday, March 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm in Hennessey Hall. It will be a Potluck lunch. Please bring an entree, salad, or dessert to share. All kids 55+ are welcome to join us in social, fun and games. We may play Bingo if we get enough people to play, so join us. New members are welcome!

CATHOLIC COMMUNITY EVENTS

We are happy to welcome and offer complimentary registrations to all clergy and religious of the Diocese of Phoenix for the 14th Annual Nun Run on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.

The first race begins at 7:30 a.m. and the event will be over by 9:30 a.m. There are 4 options (10K, 5K, 1mile walk, or just come and visit with 1,000 folks!) Confessions are offered at this event and priests are welcome to participate as fits into their race schedule. Also, thank you for inviting your parishioners and students to sign up for this “fun” fundraiser, children 18 and younger are always $15 and adults get the best price when registering before February 19, 2023.
