THE COUNT DOWN TO OUR FALL FESTIVAL BEGINS!
Dear Friends, as the days for our Fall Festival draws closer, I would like to renew my invitation for you to come and join me and your fellow parishioners in a special Holy Mass on Sunday, October 31st at 2PM in commemoration of all the lives lost during this past year and in thanking God for seeing us through the pandemic.
Considering what we all went through during the past twenty months of the pandemic, there is no doubt that we all need both spiritual and communal renewal as we embark on the journey of hope into the future. During this period, we have all encountered different types of losses. So, this celebration we will give us the opportunity to specifically remember the lives of our fellow parishioners lost due to COVID-19. Some of you may have experienced other losses such as loss of jobs, homes, and more. These too, we will include in the prayer intentions of that day. In preparation for this special celebration therefore, we invite you to bring a picture of your loved one of whom you are commemorating. There will be a special place where we will have these pictures.
When thinking about what day to have held this Mass, we couldn’t think of a better day than one that is around the Nov. 1st, the Solemnity of all Saints and Nov. 2nd in commemoration of all Souls Day. We will combine these two solemnities and blend them beautifully within the liturguy of our festival celebration.
During this celebration we also want to thank Our Good and Gracious Father for the many blessings around us. So together with our parish council, priests, deacons, staff, Knights of Columbus, ministry leads and many gracious volunteers we will also be hosting a parish gathering following this Mass.” This will be a fun event and a moment for community building. There will be lots of free food, courtyard games, entertainment in the social hall, prize giveaways, Trunk or Treating and more! All we need is YOU!
From now on therefore, I would like you to ask yourself the following questions:
·Did I receive your Memorial Mass & Festival packet?
·Have I RSVP’d for the Memorial Mass & Festival event on Oct. 31?
·Have I invited family, friends, and neighbors to our Memorial Mass & Fall Festival? Remember, all are welcome.
·Have I returned my paper marigold honoring a lost loved one and your prayer intention card to the narthex of the church?
The answers I am expecting from these questions is a resounding YES! Look out for more information on this in the coming weeks.
St. Andrew, I love you!
