WHAT'S NEXT?
This past weekend, I gave you an accountability of what your contribution towards the Together Let us Go Forth Capital Campaign is doing to enhance our evangelization and discipleship efforts. I shared with you about the pews being refurbished and expected to be re-installed hopefully by the middle of next month. Meanwhile, the cement floors on which the pews will be returned should have been done by the time you are reading this article. Also, the painting of the pictures of Mother Mary and St. John at the foot of the Cross should be accomplished by October 29 at the latest. I will be updating you on these projects as new information become available. Now, what next? Well, the month of October will focus on two major things events - 40 days for Life and our parish Fall Festival. To remind us of the evils of abortion and grave loss to human life on daily basis, we have as usual, displayed the little crosses in our courtyard with each cross signifying a baby aborted. It is hoped that this will not only be a reminder of the seriousness of this silent murder but also a call to pray and speak about it.
The next big event is our forthcoming Fall Festival. This weekend after all Masses, the Pastoral Council members and other ministry members will be at the exits handing you a Memorial Mass & Fall Festival packet (one per family). Some of you may have already received yours at Religious Education or Pasta with Pastor events this past week. Please take some time to read my letter enclosed in the packet as well as all the other information on this event that will take place on Sunday, October 31st.
This special Mass and Festival will be a chance for our parish to come together as a family and mourn the losses due to the pandemic as well as celebrate the fact that a parish that prays together grows stronger! And we will celebrate the Festival with games, entertainment, and trunk or treating!
The Knights will be offering FREE burgers, hot dogs, fries, and cotton candy. We just need you to RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors as this Memorial Mass & Fall Festival is open to ALL! I look forward to seeing you all.
St. Andrew, I love you
